– Asparagus: I like to cut the woody ends off. If you like you can using a peeler, remove the tough skin.

– Bacon: Make sure to get bacon that is not cured with sugar.

– Olive oil: My favorite oil is extra virgin olive oil.

– Salt & Pepper: I always use sea salt and freshly ground pepper.

How to make asparagus wrapped in bacon

  1. Preheat your oven to 400℉ (205˚C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for an easy clean-up. 
  2. Remove the woody ends of the asparagus. Place your spears in a large bowl and toss with olive oil, salt and pepper until it’s coated evenly. 
  3. Divide asparagus into even piles (3-4 stalks per bunch). Tightly wrap one slice of bacon around each bundle. 
  4. Place the bacon-wrapped asparagus seam-side down on the aluminum foil line sheet. 
  5. Bake the bacon wrapped asparagus for 15-20 minutes in the oven, or until the bacon is brown and crisp.

  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) of olive oil
